Still the administration area for the Maroochy Shire, Nambour is about 15 minutes
drive inland from the coastal strip, Nambour also hosts a major employer The
Morton Sugar Mill. Sugar Cane together with Pineapple growing and Macadamia 
Nut farming are still the major  income earners for the region.
